This is a fine monument to the miners, located in a roundabout at one of the road exits of this small town in Southern Portugal.

The monument was inaugurated on the 4th December 2018. It's a homage to the miners from Almodôvar who work at the nearby mines Neves Corvo. Well, in fact is a homage to all miners, but definitely it's motivated by the importance of Neves Corvo in the economy and social tissue of Almodôvar.
The author was the sculptor Aureliano Marques de Aguiar (http://www.aurelianoaguiar.com/).
