The sign Welcome to Braddan is on the Marine Drive (B80) on Douglas Head.

The Marine Drive opened in 1891 and runs along the cliffs to the Port Soderick. '...in 1896 the Marine Drive Tramway opened and a hugely
popular electric tram service for the public was operated to the beach facilities at Port Soderick.' The road is now closed to vehicular traffic for some of its length. However, it makes a very pleasant walk or cycle. (visit link)

On the sign in addition to the Manx Gaelic slogan 'Skylley Vraddan' is the 'logo' which was adopted by the Braddan Parish Commissioners in 2014.

The logo is based on the distinctive of the work of Archibald Knox whose 'designs were synonymous with British Art Nouveau and he is regard regarded as being a prominent influence in the Arts and Crafts movement. His Celtic designs and calligraphy are world famous and iconic in the Isle of Man.' (visit link)
