A tree planted in a small walled garden in the village of Baldrine by the Lonan Parish Commissioners to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1977.

There is a rectangular plaque mounted on the wall at the eastern end of the garden which has the following text:

'LONAN PARISH COMMISSIONERS
A TREE WAS PLANTED BY THE CHAIRMAN
MR J.H. CORLETT, J.P. ON THE 7TH NOVEMBER 1977
TO COMMEMORATE
THE SILVER JUBILEE OF H.M. THE QUEEN.'

The planting of the tree by the Lonan Parish Commissioners commemorates the Silver Jubilee (25-year reign) of Queen Elizabeth.

Her Majesty amongst other titles is known as Lord of Man. This title dates to 1405 when the English King Henry VI gave the Isle of Man with all its rights to Sir John Stanley. The Stanley family ruled the Island for 360 years until George III assumed the Lordship which has passed down the Royal line to Queen Elizabeth.
