There are several elevation markers, set by the Fish and Wildlife Service, along the top of Jed Johnson Dam. This is the northwest-most of a set of four on the northwest half of the dam. To reach this marker you must cross the stream southwest (below) of the dam; do not attempt to cross the dam itself. Do not cross if you cannot do so safely. The disk itself is a short distance out onto the dam. Do not venture out onto the dam unless you are confident that you can do so safely.
The four disks on the northwest half of the dam are (from the center of the dam out) are marked with elevations 1609.45, 1609.51, 1609.49, and 1609.52 feet. In the interest of safety, this waymark is for the most accessible of the four. Venture out to the others at your own risk!
