A.R. "Alex" Schell, III
1922 - 2010
was a lifelong Plano resident and public servant. Mr. Schell represented Plano on the North Texas Municipal Water District Board of Directors from 1964 until 2010, the longest period of service for any member city, serving as president six times. He also served two terms on Plano's City Council, and as Mayor Pro Tem. He was an owner and partner in Plano's oldest existing business, A.R. Schell & Son Insurance Agency, housed at 1001 E. 15th Street. Mr. Schell was a true Southern gentleman and servant-leader.
