Kunstneren Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen skabte 1882-1904 tre bronzedøre til Ribe Domkirke. Hovedportens dørhåndtag forestiller en havfrue. Datteren Irmelin har været model til havfruen. Havfruen hviler sit på hoved på en slange.
I midten af Hovedporten ses Himmelporten og fire evangelister. I bunden af døren ses to løver.
Ribe Domkirke er fra omkring 1150.


The artist Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen created three bronze doors to Ribe Cathedral in 1882-1904. The door handle of the main door depicts a mermaid in a long dress. The daughter Irmelin has been a model for the mermaid. The mermaid rests her head on a snake.
In the middle of the Main door is the Gate of Heaven and four evangelists. At the bottom of the door are two lions.
Ribe Cathedral dates from around 1150.
