Place du Général de Gaulle is a central plaza in Cannes, near the marina Vieux Port de Cannes and the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. It is surrounded by
hotels, bars, cafés and a
casino.
The center of the plaza forms a striking, old fountain. It consists of a multistory, richly ornate central column topped by a child statue. Below is a large, round basin, in which four additional statues spout water.
