A wooden plaque in St Peter & St Paul's church, Preston Capes, commemorating charitable gifts given to the poor by local benefactors. These type of plaques provide an insight into the close relationships between the families that were both significant benefactors and patrons of the church.

A black painted wooden board inscribed in gold lettering. It is framed in a nowy headed wooden frame decorated with floral designs, scrolls and cherubs faces. It is dated 1736.

The inscription on the plaque reads -

a Hundred Pounds. 1639 -
Rich.d Knightley Esq.r of Fawsley

to ye School two Hundred. 1650. -
W.m Randall Esq.r gave to the
School a Hundred Pounds. 1653. -
Rich.d Knightley Esq.r of Fawsley
Eldest Son of Sr Rich Knightley
Kt of ye Bath gave to ye School
two Hundred Pounds. 1665. -
Erasmus Dryden Esq.r Brother to
Sr Rob.t Dryden of Canons-Ashby
gave to the Poor of Little Preston

with its Appurtenances (except
