On the fort wall you can see the outline of a doorway and traces of two walls that tied into the brick on either side of it. This is all that remains of one of two structures built by the United States in garrison in 1860.

Fort Moultrie-On the fort wall you can see the outline of a doorway and traces of two walls that tied into the brick on either side of it. This is all that remains of one of two structures built by the United States in garrison in 1860 to protect the fort's low walls. From here, cannon fire could sweep the two adjoining walls.
