The Reverend Knightley Adams married the only child of Richard Newton, Principal and Founder of Hertford College, Oxford.
The inscription on the memorial reads -
Beneath lieth the Body
of KNIGHTLEY ADAMS, M.A. Rector of
this Parish. He married JANE the only
Child of RICHARD NEWTON, D.D. Principal
Founder of Hertford College in the University
of Oxford. By Whom He had four Sons
and two Daughters.
He died Novenber 12th, 1769, Aged 71.
His Sons
Robert died November 21st, 1741, Aged 8 Years
Samuel died May 11th, 1749, Aged 9 monyhs
Richard Newton died March 7th, 1753, Aged 26.
