Express Ranches is a large endeavor which is a leader is Angus cattle ranching and breeding. They also run this Clydesdale Center which has a large barn event center and museum as well as a very large Clydesdale horse barn. This fiberglass statue stands on the grass in front of this ranch.
Express Ranches owns a total of 14 Clydesdales which are part of many parades, fairs and other large events throughout the country. At the current time, during the Covid-19 pandemic, most all of the events are cancelled, and this center is currently only open by appointment.
The Clydesdale horse is a magnificent animal. An adult weighs about 2000 lbs, twice the size of a regular horse. They have hooves the size of dinner plates, and eat 12-15 lbs of grain, 20-30 lbs. of hay and 20-25 gal. of water EVERY DAY. This horse is black and white and has a harness and yoke. They are used to haul heavy wagons as we've all seen on the Budweiser commercials. Standing next to it gives you an awareness of just how massive this creature is. (The gallery also shows a real Clydesdale grazing in a nearby corral.)
