Some stone coffin lid pieces in and around Holy Cross church, Byfield, which were found during the restoration in 1870.
One is located in the metal boot scraper by the west door of the church tower. Two other pieces have been incorporated into the north wall of the north aisle of the church. All are decorated with various designs of cross.
The round-headed piece in the north aisle might actually be part of a pre-Norman church cross that may once have stood in the churchyard.
