Subway ist eine 1965 von Fred DeLuca und Peter Buck gegründete US-
amerikanische Franchisekette im Fastfood-Bereich. Das erste Subway-
Restaurant wurde 1965 in Bridgeport im US-Bundesstaat Connecticut unter dem
Namen Pete’s Super Submarines eröffnet. Die Produktpalette umfasst in erster
Linie Sandwiches, Wraps und Salate. Die Sandwiches werden einzeln auf
Bestellung in Sichtweite zubereitet. Seit Ende 2010 ist Subway die
Fastfoodkette mit den weltweit meisten Restaurants.[2] Im deutschsprachigen
Raum ist Subway seit Ende der 1990er Jahre vertreten.
Subway is an American fast food franchise chain founded in 1965 by Fred
DeLuca and Peter Buck. The first subway restaurant opened in Bridgeport,
Connecticut in 1965 under the name Pete’s Super Submarines. The product
range primarily includes sandwiches, wraps and salads. The sandwiches are
prepared individually to order within sight. Since the end of 2010, Subway
has been the fast food chain with the largest number of restaurants in the
world. [2] Subway has been represented in German-speaking countries since
the late 1990s.
