Plainview Herald"Meanwhile, a 77-foot-tall clock tower with chimes that will toll hourly and play the WTAMU Fight Song each day at noon will be known as the Hayward Spirit Tower. The project, well on its way to completion on the university's Pedestrian Mall in the center of campus, is being financed by a $438,000 contribution from Jack and Helene Hayward of Canyon."
The square tower has four clock faces that are uncovered and open to the weather. The clock faces are white. The hands and Roman numbers are black.
