The 1923 Classical Revival-style building served as an elementary school for decades. Students from the old 1851 Center School moved to this new modern school building, and the old Center School was turned over to the Grange. In 1992 the George Ball School was converted to the Upton Police Station, but the Grange continues to occupy the Center School-Grange Hall, where it holds meetings once a month and otherwise uses the space by leasing it to various cultural organizations.
