Robert L. Poteete is one of nine in the Poteete family buried in Vaught Cemetery. He has a traditional Woodmen of the World tree stump headstone which stands on four horizontal logs engraved with calla lily. He died at the age of 38 in 1918 which always makes me wonder whether it was related to the flu epidemic of 1917-1918.

His inscription is engraved on a shield and reads:
