In a document from 1008 he speaks of the existence of a river (Arnoia) and a bridge called Freijo.
Therefore its antiquity goes beyond the Middle Ages, to Rome.
It was rehabilitated in 1988-1989 and the pavement was maintained above the arches to show the wheel marks of the expensive people passing by.
