Construction of the Enfield Fire Department’s 9/11 Memorial Tribute Garden began in June 2008 at Enfield Fire Station #2 and was completed and dedication on September 11th, 2008. Subsequently , in July 2011 the department was given two large beams from the World Trade Center which were incorporated into the existing memorial. The newly enlarge memorial was then rededicated on September 11, 2011. The total cost of the memorial was over $37,000 and was supported by donations from corporations and private citizens.
The original memorial was a pair of granite pillars and a pentagonal granite slab representing the New York's World Trade Center and The Pentagon in Alexandria, VA. The are set in a landscaped area in front of a rock semi-circle with benches on both ends and containing a large fire fighters Maltese cross emblem in the center. A sign has a poem written in tribute to fire fighters and and emblem with the message:

The 93 refers to highjacked flight 93 which taken over by the passengers and crashed in rural Pennslyvania.
The aforementioned beams from the World Trade Center are displayed in a brick plaza with a granite insert which has two of the aforementioned Fire - Police - EMS emblems and is inscribed:

Also, the number 343 appears in lighter colored bricks. The number 343 represents the number of police and firefighters who died on September 11, 2001.
