A small rest stop on the east side of NM 104, east of Trementina, hosts a New Mexico Historical Marker that states the elevation as 6,300 feet. However, this is wildly incorrect; the GPS elevation is closer to 4900 feet. A little research reveals that the historical marker was moved from a location about 12 miles to the southwest.
