The southern trailhead to the Gregory K. Baderschneider Trail is located in Chipp-a-Waters Park in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The GDK Riverwalk Trail is 1.8 miles long and runs from Chipp-A-Waters Park to Pickens Field. The plaque honoring Gregory Baderschneider states:

“The Gregory K. Baderschneider Riverwalk Trail Is dedicated to the memory of Greg Baderschneider, Parks Director for the City of Mt. Pleasant from 1990 through 2008. After graduating from Central Michigan University with a BA in Parks Administration, Greg made developing parkland in the city of Mt. Pleasant and Isabella County his life’s work for nearly 30 years. Greg’s vision of connecting the community, the Chippewa River, and public parks became the Riverwalk Trail which will forever remain a testament to his love for community parks and the great outdoors. Savor the moment you have been given. Enjoy your journey and the many vistas along the way. Take time to smell the flowers and feel the breeze on your face. Listen to the birds and the flowing water. We are all just visitors here for a short while. In Memory and Tribute Gregory K. Baderschneider (GKB) November 27, 1953 - October 12, 2008"
