A tiled wooden roof supported on wooden pillars and a lower stone wall. Wooden gates are also included.
The gate provides a useful display area for a plaque and a map. The map displays the footpaths and bridleways in the area.
The plaque celebrates the inclusion of Chaddesley Corbett in the Domesday Book compiled for William the Conqueror in 1086.
From the Domesday book (opendomesday.org/place/SO8973/chaddesley-corbett) "Chaddesley [Corbett] was a settlement in Domesday Book, in the hundred of Cresslow and the county of Worcestershire . It had a recorded population of 69 households in 1086, putting it in the largest 20% of settlements recorded in Domesday."
From wikipedia "The Domesday Book implies that there was a church at Chaddesley Corbett before 1086, although the present nave dates from the 12th century with later additions. St Nicholas Chapel was added in the 13th century, the chancel and north and south aisles in the 14th century, and the vestry probably added in the 16th century when the south aisle and St Nicholas Chapel were also altered."
