DE: An der Ostseite des Gebäudes Liblarer Straße 10, in dem der Deutsche Kinderschutzbund die Ortsvertretung Brühl unterhält, prangt mittig ein etwa zwei Meter breites und etwa vier Meter hohes Gemälde mit einer Werbung für Zucker. Diese Werbung ist im Stil des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts gehalten und wurde anlässlich des hundertjährigen Bestehens der Brühler Zuckerfabrik 1983 bei der Südwestdeutschen Reklame Gesellschaft in Auftrag gegeben.
Bildbeschreibung: Mittig auf einem rostbraunen Hintergrund steht breitbeinig ein stilisierter, blonder Zuckerbäcker mit offenem Mund. Bekleidet ist er mit eriner roten Jacke und einer weißen Hose, in jeder Hand eine mit Girlande umrankte Holzstange, auf der oben ein Zuckerhut steht.
Über dem Zuckerbäcker steht in Sütterlin "Am Zucker sparen grundverkehrt", fortgesetzt dann unter dem Zuckerbäcker mit "der Körper braucht ihn, Zucker nährt".
Zusätzlich ist in einer serifenlosen, grauen Schriftart rechts und links in einem kleinen etwa 30cm großen Quadrat über dem Bild der Hinweis "Unbefugtes Bemalen untersagt" angebracht, dazwischen wird die "SÜREK Süddeutsche Reklame Gesellschaft Ortsvertretung Brühl" genannt. Unter dem Bild ist noch der Schriftzug "Zuckerfabrik Brühl", darunter in kleinerer Schriftart "Aktiengesellschaft" und "SEIT 1883" zu sehen.
Im Jahr 1989 schloss die Zuckerfabrik.
EN: On the east side of the building Liblarer Straße 10, in which the German Child Protection Association maintains the local representative in Brühl, a painting of about two meters wide and about four meters high emblazoned with an advertisement for sugar is shown. This advertisement is in the style of the early 20th century and was commissioned by the Südwestdeutsche Reklame Gesellschaft to mark the centenary of the Brühler Zuckerfabrik in 1983.
Description of the picture: A stylized, blond confectioner with an open mouth stands in the middle of a rusty brown background, legs apart. He is dressed in a red jacket and white trousers, in each hand a wooden pole with a garland and a sugar loaf on top.
Above the confectioner, in Sütterlin, it reads "Am Zucker sparen grundverkehrt" (saving on sugar is fundamentally wrong), then continued under the confectioner with "der Körper braucht ihn, Zucker nährt" (the body needs it, sugar nourishes).
In addition, in a sans serif, gray font, on the right and left in a small square of about 30cm above the picture, the note "Unbefugtes Bemalen untersagt" (unauthorized painting is prohibited), with the name "SÜREK Süddeutsche Reklame Gesellschaft Ortsvertretung Brühl" in between. Under the picture you can see the words "Zuckerfabrik Brühl", underneath in a smaller font "Aktiengesellschaft" and "SEIT 1883".
In 1989 the sugar factory closed.
