The former post office of Bovenkarspel has been made in 1921 in an expesssionist style. The architect was J. Crouwel (oudstedebroec.eu). Above the doorway is a piece of relief art in an expressionist style. Depicted is the Dutch state weapon along with the state motto 'Je Maitendrai', which is french for I will maintain. The state weapon is held by two stylized lions.
