[EN] The Money Tree neon sign designed by Kalevi Manninen in 1960 was made at the request of the bank that was originally in the house. The original names of the work known as the people of Turku as a Money Tree or Light Pine, are The Tree from a Seed and The Tree of Life. The neon sign resembles a pine tree and has two clocks at the base showing the time. In addition to this, there are chiming bells at the base that play a melody every hour. The height of the entire neon sign is about 12 meters. The work was last awarded in the neon sign competition in 2019.
The lights come on in sequences from the root of the tree all the way up to the canopy. Worth watching the whole light show in the dark!
[FIN] Kalevi Mannisen vuonna 1960 suunnittelema Rahapuu valomainos tehtiin alunperin talossa olleen pankin pyynnöstä. Rahapuuna tai valomäntynä turkulaisten tunteman teoksen alkuperäiset nimet ovat Siemenestä puu kasvaa ja Elämän puu. Valomainos muistuttaa mäntyä ja sen juurella on kaksi kelloa näyttämässä aikaa. Tämän lisäksi juurella on soivia kelloja, jotka tasatunnein soittavat melodiaa. Koko valomainoksen korkeus on noin 12 metriä.Teos on palkittu valomainoskilpailussa viimeksi vuonna 2019.
Valot syttyvät sekvensseinä puun juuresta aina ylös latvustoon saakka. Kannattaa katsoa pimeään aikaan koko valoshow!
