Ilha Deserta, formally known as Ilha da Barreta, is a deserted island. It also features one of the best beaches in Portugal and pretty much the ferry service exists due to this beach. And also to serve the luxury restaurant existent near the pier. It's in fact the only human made structure in the island.

Connection is from Faro and return ticket is 10 Euros. Tickets must be booked, meaning when you buy the inbound ticket you have to chose the outbound ferry trip.

At the moment of writing the safety conditions for embarking/disembarking are not the best but the ferry keeps operating.
