This is a two sided marker located in the I-80 eastbound rest area near mile 300. An identical marker is located in the nearby westbound rest area

One side of the marker tells the history of the settlement and delopement of Davenport.
The other side relates the history of the nearby bridges across the Mississippi which preceeded the present I-80 bridge.
