The new solar farm was built about six miles north of the Osceola County city of Sibley on the east side of the Highway 60 expressway near Hawkeye Point.

The 560-panel solar park produced about 15,000 kilowatt-hours June 15-27. A kilowatt-hour is a unit of energy, equivalent to the energy transferred or expended in one hour by one kilowatt of power.

The solar park’s polycrystalline panels were manufactured by Ten K Solar of Minneapolis and installed during the spring by Denison-based Western Iowa Power Cooperative.
Type of system: Photovoltaic (electrical)
