Marsvinsbrønden er udført af kunstneren Hans Olsen, hvis frue afslørede brønden den 25.10.1957. Motivet til denne skulptur er scener fra tidligere tiders marsvinsjagt. I mange år var marsvinjagt Middelfarts vigtigste levebrød. Marsvinjægere levede af at sælge marsvineolie, som blev brugt til fremstilling af lampeolie.
Relieffet på Marsvinebrønden er udført i bronze.
The Porpoise well was made by the artist Hans Olsen, whose mistress revealed the well 10/25/1957. The motif of this sculpture is scenes from past porpoise hunting in Middelfart. For many years, porpoise hunting was Middelfarts main livelihood. Porpoise hunters lived from selling porpoise train oil, which was used for making lamp oil.
The relief on the Porpoise Well is made of bronze.
