On the 22. february 1992 a gruesome and savage murder was committed in a college parkinglot in Odense, Denmark. Young student Betina Kjær Jørgensen was dragged into a bicycle shed and savagely murdered. The whole nation was shaken by the murder.

Den 20-årige medicinstuderende Betina Kjær Jørgensen blev fundet voldtaget, forsøgt kvalt, slået i ansigtet med knytnæve og dræbt med knivstik i halsen i et cykelskur ved Ungbo-kollegiet i Vindegade i Odense.
En henvendelse fra offentligheden bragte politiet på sporet af den dengang 26-årige Jens Hammershøj Vittrup - en tidligere sergent i hæren.
Den unge gerningsmand kendte ikke Betina, og han var ikke tidligere straffet. Han forklarede senere politiet, at han begik mordet, fordi han den dag 'var vred på hele verden', efter han var blevet sagt op fra sin læreplads og kasseret af Fremmedlegionen. Han idømtes livsvarigt fængsel for det bestialske mord.

An inquiry from the public brought the police on the trail of the then 26-year-old Jens Hammershøj Vittrup - a former sergeant in the army.
The young perpetrator did not know Betina and he had not been previously punished. He later explained to police that he committed the murder because he was 'angry at the whole world' that day after he was fired from his apprenticeship and discarded by the Foreign Legion. He was sentenced to life in prison for the bestial murder.
