In Erftstadt-Liblar liegt das überregional bedeutende Krankenhaus Marien-Hospital. Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts gründeten die Eheleute Münch eine Stiftung zum Bau und Betrieb des Krankenhauses. Sie benannten ihre Stiftung und das Krankenhaus nach einer bereits auf dem Gelände vorhandenen alten Kapelle und widmeten es der Heiligen Maria.

Zu Ehren Marias wurde in einem Park auf dem Klinikgelände ein Marienhäuschen errichtet. Das kleine, halboffene Gebäude beinhaltet zwei Sitzbänke, einen schlichten, kleinen Altar und eine große, hölzerne Marienstatue. So wird Krankenhaus-Patienten, Gläubigen und anderen Besuchern die Möglichkeit geboten, der Heiligen Maria zu gedenken und zu beten. Manche von ihnen hinterlassen Kerzen und Blumen.
The Marien-Hospital, which is of major importance, is located in Erftstadt-Liblar. In the middle of the 19th century, the Münch couple set up a foundation to build and operate the hospital. They named their foundation and the hospital after an old chapel that was already on the site and dedicated it to Holy Mary.

In honor of Mary, a shrine was built in a park on the clinic premises. The small, half-open building contains two benches, a simple, small altar and a large, wooden statue of the Virgin Mary. So, hospital patients, believers and other visitors are given the opportunity to commemorate and pray to Holy Mary. Some of them leave candles and flowers.
