Lighthouse of Playa América, in Nigrán. It was inaugurated on April 3, 2007 and has a 15-meter high tower. It is combined with the D-1911 beacon of Cabezo de San Juan(this one located in the middle of the Bay of Bayonne). Both lights help orient the entry of boats into that bay. The modern lighthouse replaces another located 250 meters inland in the SAU-4 urbanization and whose light was confused with those of the houses. This lighthouse has a fixed white light (although as you can see in the photo, in long exposure it looks like a combination of white and blue) that is hidden every 4 seconds and has a range of 5 nautical miles. Its construction cost 260,000 euros and was carried out by the real estate developers who built the nearest block of flats, in agreement with the Nigrán City Council and the Vigo Port Authority.
