The WPA re-constructed an existing building here, half the building in 1937 and the other half in 1938. The differences can be seen in the color of the stone. A panel at the top of one half reads "MARSHALL COUNTY" and panels on the second half read "1937.8 MARSHALL COUNTY". The building is a two-story rusticated and coursed native sandstone building, 118 ft. by 49 ft. Above the first floor doors and windows is a continuous header of large angled concrete blocks. On the front wall, holes in the rock indicate where a WPA bronze plaque was once attached.

Windows on the second level have stone sills and lintels and are all boarded. The three over an art galley occupying 403 E. Main, have pictures painted on the wood boarding. On the west elevation, there are two doors at the rear of the building, and two small windows near the front. On the south-facing facade, the two doors to the second floor have been boarded. There are two tenants on the first floor: At 401 - the radio broadcasting office of KMAD1550 and at 403 - Ruby Adkins Gallery (an art gallery).
