[DE] Die Stadt Niederstetten wurde erstmals um 800 in einer Schenkungsurkunde der nahegelegenen Burg Haltenbergstetten an das Kloster Fulda erwähnt. Seit 1290 gehört die Burg der Adelsfamilie von Hohenlohe-Brauneck, die von dort aus die Herrschaft über Stadt ausgeübt hat. Große Teile von Niederstetten wurden Ende des zweiten Weltkriegs zerstört. Der Wiederaufbau hat sehr lange gedauert. Heute hat die Stadt ungefähr 5000 Einwohner. Beim Rathaus handelt es sich um einen zweigeschossigen Bau. Er besteht aus einem massiven Erdgeschoss mit Laube, einem Fachwerk-Obergeschoss und einem Satteldach mit Dachreiter. Es wurde von 1951 bis 1953 erbaut. Das Gebäude gilt als Kulturdenkmal und steht unter Denkmalschutz. Es befindet sich im Ortszentrum.
