The sculpture "Genesis" was created by the artist Giancarlo Sangregorio in 1974 and after an exhibition was bought by the city and placed on the lawn of the restored Göttingen Amtshaus.
Different types of stone are used here: olive-green serpentine, granite and black diorite.
