This bridge was listed as having a construction date of 1894 in a rehabilitation tender which also stated the bridge was a former railway bridge that was later converted for highway use. Assuming the construction date is correct it is an early example of a plate girder swing bridge. Assuming this was a former railway bridge, it would appear to have something in common with the nearby Hudson Bridge, which was also found to be a former railway bridge. The bridge sits on a stone pier and stone abutments. The bridge functions as a one-lane bridge with a sidewalk within the girder lines as well. As of 2013, projects to rehabilitate the bridge were being undertaken.
