Omkring 1857 blev den Canadiske Poppel plantet på havnen i Ærøskøbing. Den var fredet, men blev fældet i 2000, da man frygtede, at de store gamle grene skulle knække og falde ned på molen.
Dette er en skive af træet, skåret tæt på roden. Den kan ses ved Flaske Peters hus


Around 1857, the Canadian Poplar was planted at the harbor in Ærøskøbing. It was protected, but it was ruled in 2000 when it was feared that the big old branches would break and fall down on the pier.
This is a slice of the tree, cut close to the root. It can be seen at Flaske Peter's house
