Oklahoma School for the Deaf plays a significant role in The Quiet Game. The main character lives at the school for the first half of the book, and it is quite a significant location for the plot.

This is a wonderful story that takes place in Sulphur for the first half of the book, then Edmond/UCO for the second half. Edmond residents will recognize other locations mentioned by the character. It is a Payton Durham Suspense Novel. I eagerly await the sequel.

A blurb from the Amazon listing:

Two college coeds have simply vanished – both abducted within the past week. The police have no leads and no serious potential suspects. Payton knows and can identify most of the evil people in this town. One or more of them is certain to be the perpetrator of these crimes. While he is not in law enforcement, Payton has a special talent for rooting out evil where conventional crime solving techniques prove useless.Always intentional in his dedicated pursuit of justice, Payton has a peculiarly humorous manner of approaching perilous circumstances. And perilous circumstances have a way of ensnaring Payton when he least expects it.
