Saint Teresa of Avila Church is located on 3rd Avenue in Union City, Pennsylvania. The parish was founded by Irish Catholic families in 1857. In 1906, construction began on the present church building to replace the former wood-frame building. The cornerstone was laid in July 1906 and the church was dedicated in May 1907. The church was struck by lightning in 1930, which caused extensive damage. By October of that year, repairs were completed. Additional renovations and restoration work was completed in the 1950s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. Source: ( visit link)
