Roadside America"During one of Bonnie and Clyde's many run-ins with the law, Bonnie was caught. She spent the night of April 19-20, 1932, in the tiny brick jail in Kemp. Townspeople stared at her through the barred windows; she supposedly spit in the faces of some of them."
Text from the Marker: Built in the early 1900's the calaboose was used to jail offenders of the law. It is legended that Bonnie Parker (of Bonnie and Clyde Fame) and one other member of the Barrow Gang were once held here in 1932.
