A carved wooden reredos on the chancel of st Andrew's church, Darmsden. It is made of oak, and dates from the time the church was built in 1880.
St Peter and St Andrew stand either side of Christ as the Good Shepherd. It is quite grand for such a little church.
The church was closed in 1973 and officially declared redundant in 1979, and applied for planning permission for it to be turned into a house. In 1983 a trust formed by local people purchased the church from the Church of England and reopened it as a church!
Upper Darmsden, where the church is, is an estate village - technically, the road up to the village from the Needham Market road is a private road.
