This tall pole holding up a tall set of multiple warning sirens is found at the corner of 18th Street and Avenue N in Hondo, TX. Hondo is the county seat of Medina County in Texas and this set of warning sirens is two block west, then two block south of the Medina County Courthouse. Not much is around this siren. It appears the surrounding area is undergoing some renovations and revitalization.

There is the occasional tornado that tends to form in this part of south Texas, so it is not a surprise to see a warning siren in these small towns that dot the major interstates, in this case I-10 and US 90. As high as these sirens are, and as many as are mounted here, the sound coverage from this one warning unit is the whole town and beyond. It certainly will cover the immediate business district where the municipal and county government offices are located.
