This little lending library is really pretty large for a community book exchange unit! It is found at the City Municipal Court building at 1600 Avenue M, Honda, TX. It faces toward Avenue M, close to the corner of Avenue M and 17th Street.

There is a large free book exchange box found near the corner of Avenue M and 17th Street in Hondo, TX that is between this corner of the block and the actual Municipal Count building. The community book exchange appears to be made of cedar boards and is a large cubic box with a shelf inside. The roof is steeply sloped and covered with cedar shingles. From the appearance inside, this book exchange is indeed being used by the community. A variety of reading selections are inside, from easy readers for young folks and some novels for the teens and older folks. A large oak tree offers shade while a nearby bench offers a place to sit and read should someone want to sample parts of the text prior to accepting it.
The concept of the community book exchange is for people within a community to stop by the unit and examine the selection of books at that time. If you see a book you'd like to read, feel free to take it out and take it with you. If you have books at home that you have already read, you are encouraged to take these books to a Little Free Library and donate them into any little library's book selection. This concept is summarized as: Take A Book: Return a Book. Feel free to take a book you want to read, and feel free to return a book or add a book to this exchange unit, or any others you know of. Your contribution of books keeps the sections varied and keeps the little libraries filled with books for others. Its is a win-win situation.
