Driving through towns and back roads in Oklahoma, we find ourselves scanning the roadsides for signs of the WPA. And often we are not disappointed. Most every town in Oklahoma appears to have a presence of the WPA. Drainage culverts in suburban neighborhoods and out in the boonies in the countryside, there they are!

This culvert was difficult to spot because of the growth of weeds. It runs east-west at the intersection of County Roads E900 and N3580 about 3-1/2 miles southeast of Stroud. The WPA shield is impressed into the concrete curbing and shows the date of 1941. The concrete tunnel, though difficult to examine appears to be about 2 ft. high and 4 ft. wide.
