This 'You Are Here' Map can be found on The Vale Site close to the access point from the Worcester & Birmingham Canal.

The access is via the nearby brick-built footbridge (Canal bridge number 84A).

The colour map shows the roads, paths, and street in the local area. It also shows the position of the University of Birmingham student accommodation buildings on The Vale site. Other information shown on the map is a compass the course of the Worcester and Birmingham Canal which runs alongside the Cross-City Railway Line from just north of the University of Birmingham Edgbaston Campus to Edgbaston Tunnel and direction arrows to places adjacent to the maps coverage.

One feature of the map has some additional information which is the winding hole which immediately to the south of the brick-built access bridge. The information shown is as follows:
'A winding hole is a body of water used for turning boats around. It takes the name from the old practice of boats using the wind to assist in turning the boat".
