With easy access from the rest area on the east side of Royal Gorge, south of US 64, the Rio Grande Gorge Trail System offers seventeen miles of hiking, much providing spectacular views of the gorge (and of the famous Truss Bridge) and of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
