Because of the Almonte Downtown Revitalization project, the trestle was almost replaced with an at-grade crossing. The overpass on Little Bridge Street now survives thanks to support in the community.

This short bridge presently supports the Ottawa Valley Recreation Trail. Back in the days as part of the CPR's Chalk River subdivision, this little bridge was a busy bridge. Check out the 1974 photograph of the bridge carrying Canadian Pacific engine 4085 (bottom photo).

Bridge Type: Girder

Bridge Usage: Pedestrian

Moving Bridge: This bridge is static (has no moving pieces)
