The Ourense City Council (in Galician: "Concello de Ourense") is in charge of governing the city and the municipality of Ourense , capital of the Galician province of Ourense , in Spain .
It is chaired by the mayor, who since 1979 has been democratically elected by universal suffrage . After the 2019 municipal elections in Spain , the PP , PSOE , Democracia Ourensana , BNG and Ciudadanos parties obtained parliamentary representation. According to the results, the seats have been distributed as follows: PSOE : 9 PP : 7 DO : 7 C's : 2 BNG : 2
