Walsh's Pyramid is 922m high, it is tree covered and the shape is almost perfect. The vegetation on the mountain is heavy, consisting mainly of Australian scrub. Rocks feature heavily, so if it is raining you'll need to be careful not to slip. Take plenty of water with you and make sure to apply sunscreen regularly. The scenery from the top of the pyramid is spectacular. Walsh's Pyramid is a challenging 6 km return track which is graded as difficult and can take you up to 5-6 hours to complete however you will be rewarded with 360 degree views of the surrounding landscape.
Walsh's Pyramid is located at the northern end of Wooroonooran National Park, within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, and is a granite core left standing in the form of a pointed hill when older, less resistant metamorphic rocks were eroded away.
