The Ayr Post Office, built in 1936, is a single-storey cream rendered brick building in the Inter-War Free Classical style. The building has a symmetrical facade and twin porches. Above the centre of the facade is a square pediment featuring the words 'AYR POST OFFICE'. Behind the pediment is a small, four-sided roof tower with a hipped, tiled roof, surmounted by a finial
