The Baxter Conservation Area is located at the end of Carter Road which is off of Regional Road 13 (Dilworth Road), south of Kars. Once you are in the conservation area, instead of heading south towards the beach, continue straight for the interpretive centre. Just outside of the interpretive centre building, Baxter's rain garden and butterfly garden coexist.
